Bolivia wants to strengthen tourism

Bolivia experienced significant growth with a multiplier effect on the generation of jobs throughout the chain of industry without chimneys, and is an important driver of its economy.

According to the Bolivian Minister of Cultures and Tourism, Wilma Alanoca, tourism in Bolivia has become one of the main sources of foreign exchange income and is a generator of jobs.

The Bolivian government reaffirmed its policy of strengthening tourism in the country as one of its main pillars of economic growth, after experiencing constant growth in this area in recent years.

The minister recalled that what Bolivian President Evo Morales has repeatedly said about strengthening tourism as an economic growth strategy is being implemented.

“It is a reality that tourism contributes to the country’s economic growth, data that is supported by national and international studies and reports,” she told journalists.

According to data from the World Economic Forum’s Travel and Tourism Industry Competitiveness Report 2019, published earlier this month, Bolivia climbed 15 places to 90th place among 140 countries.

The growth that has taken place, with respect to previous years, is worthy of “incentivizing with more policies”.
